Fishing Retreat
River Rafting
About Icon

Located on the banks of the famous Mahakali river in Kumaon, the Pancheshwar fishing retreat is a unique destination that promises incredible experiences for 'anglers', 'rafters', bird watchers and nature lovers.

Pancheshwar lies at the confluence of the Mahakali and Saryu, rivers that demarcate the Indo - Nepal border. It has historically been renowned as the home of Jim Corbett's Champawat tiger, the sacred Chaumu temple and the golden Mahseer.

However, it's potential as a paradise for nature lovers, anglers and adventure enthusiasts has been untapped so far. The Pancheshwar fishing retreat is targetted at bridging this gap in the tourism landscape of Kumaon. It is perhaps the only permanent facility of its kind that is open all year, with the exception of the volatile monsoon months.

As opposed to usual overnight tents, typical of riverside camps, the fishing retreat provides a sense of luxury without compromising on the need to be right there on the riverbank. Luxurious tents with king size beds, attached bath rooms, verandahs facing the confluence with breakfast literally on the river bed are some of the features of attraction at this unique retreat.

The retreat is a paradise for bird watchers with a large variety of Himalayan and migratory birds commonly visible. For keen anglers, the Mahakali and Saryu are home to the mighty golden Mahseer and for rafting enthusiasts , our 'Camp Rapidfire' offers tailored options for white water rapid adventures.

The retreat lends itself, on its own, to an amazingly relaxing time by the riverside, away from the din and bustle of city life. Lazy days spent reading on a hammock, an occasional hand at angling on the river or a few hours of pure adrenaline rush on white water rapids, all the ingredients for the perfect getaway are at hand. Swami Vivekananda's famous Mayawati Ashram, dating back to 1898, is just an hour's drive away, and a day trip can be arranged, for the spiritually inclined.

So, welcome to the Pancheshwar fishing retreat, a Kumaoni destination with a difference. Kumaon may be famous for its majestic Himalayan peaks but come and experience the charms of its great Himalayan rivers. Take the road less travelled.
